being home and catching up...

*because they grow up.

I've been fortunate enough to be home a lot lately. it has its pro's and cons. one pro is everything, one con is no work. but when home i try to hang out with people and do fun things.

lately, one of my favorite activities is cooking meals with emily. here is taco night...

taco's make us happy.

so does netflix.

i did a fun show with M.O.M (men of mort)...

what a nice bunch of fun, funny, sweet, caucasian men.

i also got to see t-dog. t-dog was my boss when i worked in an office type setting. she was a super cool boss and a close friend. she's a knitter and a blogger. her is the point in the universe where the two collide www.everywhereknitting.blogspot.com.

whenever she is in town we eat at "handlebar" restaurant. she is a vegetarian (gross) and they specialize in that type of cuisine(gross). i like their biscuits and gravy breakfast platter because it taste nothing like vegetables (not gross). don't get me wrong, i like vegetables...when they are smothered in delicious meats.

here's t-dog and i...

even when we are home we still try to get some work done. here is drew while we were filming a bit. that big monster foot is a prop we used, an actual prop...

i got to hang out with john f. thompson (aka-jft) and his wife libby. this didn't take place in chicago but it still runs with the theme of friends...

john was always one of the funnest people to play with. he now resides in rochester ny (www.visitrochester.com). if you are a hitman looking for john i think i have supplied enough info. (his social is 067-29-4236)

my mom came to visit me in chicago on her way to pheonix az. i love my mom, she's great. in this picture she is showing me that chicago has a lake. supposably it is "great"...

i thought it was just alright. frankly, i can't believe i missed it all these years. thanks mom.

whenever my mom is in town, or when we have traveled to other places, we walk a lot. she's a really good walker. i think i'm pretty good at it but not as good as she. one of these days i will catch up to you mother.

here she is in millenium park...

later that day we went to go see a show at park west. the funniest part was when emily and i witnessed some dude hit on my mom. his closer, which was awesome, was "this is my wife." as he raised an eyebrow.

and the dogs, the wonderful wonderful dogs.

here's victor...

and of course jockey, oh how i miss you so much...

one night i went and shot pool at the local bar. i got to hang out with my two favorite ladies...

*hmo

and

*emily

it was a lot of fun...sorta.

easter also happened. julie invited me up to her parents house for dinner. it was really nice of her and made for a perfect easter.

here's julie in the kitchen with her mom and mackie. she totally seems to be having the time of her life...

bill was getting super hammered and making little wooden planes for his nephews in-law...

unfortunately i shit my pants while in a bunny suit...

and finally i went to my first cubs game. 8 years here and never stepped foot in the place...

it was a beautiful day in wrigleyville. we only really watched 3 innings of the game because in the shade it was quite chilly. if you were with us here's what you would have seen...

the vendors were really funny. at one point the old beer guy was taking his sweet, almost slow motion time. the rookie was like "you are taking to long." at that point he sat right on the steps in between the aisles of seats and just waited...

holy shit!!! he really did that.

one of the things that i did not like about wrigleyfield was the pissing situation. the bathrooms were lined with trouths. i'm super pee shy so it would take me 7 minutes to pee. the walls were only five feet tall in the mediums too, so people would talk to you while pissing. this really would set things back mentally, adding 3 minutes to the whole process. i pee'd 4 times while i was there.

here's a picture of mike and i and my newly acquired cubs hat...

what a nice day...

go baseball???
